TropiCaddy ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the TropiCaddy mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:

• Create an account (email address, username, password)
• Complete your profile (full name, birthday, city and state, GHIN number, club affiliation)
• Upload a profile photo or select an avatar
• Log golf rounds and practice sessions (scores, clubs, shot and distance data)
• Chat with Jimmy, the AI caddy (your messages — voice input is transcribed to text on your device; audio recordings are not uploaded)
• Interact with community features (friend requests, group rounds)
• Submit content or contact support

We also collect some information automatically when you use the App:

• Precise location (GPS) — used while you play or search for courses to show on-course distances and maps, find nearby courses, provide local weather, and improve caddy advice. Location is collected only while you are actively using the App (never in the background), and round GPS data is stored with your account.
• Subscription and purchase status — your subscription is processed by Apple or Google and managed through our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status and purchase history for our products; we never see or store your payment card details.
• Basic technical data needed to operate and secure the service, and crash or diagnostic reports that may be collected to help us find and fix bugs.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Create and manage your account
• Calculate and track your golf handicap
• Display statistics and performance insights
• Enable community and social features
• Send notifications about your account or activity
• Moderate uploaded content for safety
• Respond to your support requests

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption and security practices. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Content Moderation

Profile photos you upload are analyzed by an AI content moderation system to ensure they meet our community guidelines. This analysis happens at the time of upload, and the AI does not retain or store your images beyond the moderation check.

AI Caddy Conversations

When you talk to Jimmy, the AI caddy, your messages and relevant round context (such as your position on the course, club distances, and recent scores) are sent to our servers and processed by a third-party AI provider to generate responses. Voice input is transcribed to text on your device — audio recordings are never uploaded. Conversations are stored with your account so Jimmy can remember your round and improve his advice, and they are permanently removed when you delete your account.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information:

• With other users through community features (username, avatar, handicap) as part of the App's social functionality
• With service providers who assist in operating the App — our AI provider (caddy responses and photo moderation), golf course data provider, weather provider, and subscription manager (RevenueCat) — solely to provide App functionality
• When required by law or to protect our rights

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through the App
• Update or correct your personal information
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile settings
• Contact us with questions about your data

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen under Account Settings. When you delete your account, your personal data — including rounds, practice sessions, club information, community connections, and your uploaded profile photo — is permanently removed from our servers. Content retained for safety and moderation purposes is anonymized. This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
